Local Greyabbey community volunteers commit to world class customer service delivery

WorldHost Customer Service Training Greyabbey Community Association

8 voluntary service professionals in Greyabbey have joined an army of over one million WorldHost accredited service providers worldwide in committing to the delivery of world class customer service excellence in the village.
The 8 local men and women from Greyabbey Community Association, all successfully completed the globally renowned full day accredited WorldHost Principles of Customer Service training programme and personally signed individual commitments to delivering service excellence to visitors of Greyabbey.
On completing the training, which was delivered by local Chartered Marketer and Licensed WorldHost trainer Christine Watson of Watson & Co. Chartered Marketing at Trinity Presbyterian church last week, Sue Newell, Chair of Greyabbey and District Community Association commented:
“As volunteers we are as passionate about service standards as those in paid employment and are incredibly proud to have all achieved WorldHost certification. When visitors and potential visitors to Greyabbey see the WorldHost logo proudly displayed in our communications, they’ll know that we have made a commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for them. Not only does this generate a positive buzz about the service they can expect when they visit, but it helps to promote Greyabbey village as a friendly and welcoming visitor destination. ”

Licensed WorldHost trainer Christine Watson who has successfully trained over 1,000 customer facing staff in customer service excellence across Northern Ireland said: “It was a real pleasure to deliver the WorldHost training programme to a passionate and enthusiastic group of local people committed to enhancing the visitor experience in Greyabbey for the benefit of all. In the delivery of customer service excellence a positive can-do attitude, willingness and empathy are of paramount importance and visitors value service professionals who deliver positive and memorable moments of truth throughout the entire customer journey”.

The WorldHost programme is being rolled out across the country by Tourism Northern Ireland in partnership with sector skills council, People 1st to help businesses gain a competitive edge and position Northern Ireland as a world-class tourist destination.

The 8 local Greyabbey volunteers: Sue Newell, Janet Hamilton, Leonard Brown, Michael Allen, David McGreal, Hugh McComb, Donald MacArthur and Stephen Newell all give willingly and freely of their time for the benefit of new and returning visitors to the village. Ards and North Down Borough Council and NIEA jointly funded the delivery of the 10 March WorldHost training.
