Funeral Services Northern Ireland launches 2014 Carers Awards

Carer awardsDo you care for a loved one, are you being cared for, have you chosen caring for your career or do your neighbours depend on you during our winter cold snaps or summer heatwaves?

In celebration of Carers Week Funeral Services Northern Ireland is launching its annual carers awards and, if you, or someone you know should be recognised then you can enter the Funeral Services Northern Ireland Carers Awards 2014 today.

The aim of the awards is to celebrate carers across Northern Ireland whose efforts in providing care to other people are particularly exceptional and deserving of recognition.

Beverley Brown, General Manager, Funeral Services Northern Ireland, said: “This year sees us recognise the efforts of carers for the third time. Last year we were overwhelmed by the number of entries and the lengths some people in our Province go to when caring for others.

“Caring is at the heart of everything that we do here at Funeral Services Northern Ireland. It’s such a selfless task which is why we consider these awards to be so important in thanking carers in all our communities for the help they give others.”

There are four categories open for entry submission: Paid Carer of the Year, Unpaid Carer of the Year, Voluntary Community Carer of the Year and Young Carer of the Year. The awards ceremony will take place on 1 August 2014 and each category winner will receive a trophy and £50 in vouchers.
